Medical Certificate for Dental Pain Online
A medical certificate for dental pain can be requested online through DrCertificate. You fill in a short form, and a certified doctor reviews your request by chat and decides whether to issue a certificate.
The service is for non emergency situations only.
DrCertificate serves people in 10 South East Asian countries, from Singapore and Malaysia to the Philippines and Vietnam.
Can you get a medical certificate for dental pain online?
Yes. DrCertificate connects people with dental pain to independent certified doctors (MBBS, MD or MS), who may issue a medical certificate after a digital chat consultation. Issuing is the doctor's decision. Approved certificates arrive as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency cases only, and the certificate is not for India, legal or insurance use.

What is a medical certificate for dental pain?
A medical certificate for dental pain is a note from a certified doctor stating that, after a chat consultation, you needed time away from work or study, or a change to how you work. The certificate covers the dates the doctor approves.
The certificate does not treat your tooth. DrCertificate does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and a dentist is still the person who fixes the cause of the pain.
For toothache, the sick leave option is the usual choice. A work from home note suits people who can still work but should not commute or talk on calls for hours while the pain settles. Most people show the certificate to an employer, an HR team, a school or a university.
Which kinds of dental pain can a doctor consider online?
A doctor can consider common, non emergency dental pain for a certificate when the pain stops you working, studying or sleeping well. The doctor looks at what you describe and decides if a rest period makes sense.
The doctor decides whether you need rest, and for how long, based on the consultation. No set number of days applies to any form of dental pain. In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms.
Not every dental problem suits a chat consultation.
A swollen face, swelling that spreads, or trouble breathing or swallowing needs a dentist or an emergency department, not a certificate. The warning signs section below lists those signs in full.
Toothache from decay
Throbbing or constant pain in one tooth, often worse with hot, cold or sweet food.
Gum pain and swelling
Sore, tender or bleeding gums around one or more teeth.
Wisdom tooth pain
Pain at the back of the jaw as a wisdom tooth comes through or presses on nearby teeth.
Cracked or sensitive tooth
Sharp pain when biting down or when the tooth meets hot or cold drinks.
Pain after dental work
Soreness after an extraction, filling or root canal treatment that makes eating or speaking hard.
What should you tell the doctor about your dental pain?
Tell the doctor where the pain is, what it feels like, when it started and how it affects your day. Clear and consistent details help the doctor decide.
If you already saw a dentist, say so and mention what they told you.
Symptoms
The type of pain, any swelling, sensitivity or pain when chewing.
Onset and duration
The date the pain started and whether it is getting better or worse.
Severity
Whether the pain stops you sleeping, eating, speaking or working.
Reports you have
Any dentist notes, scans or treatment records from a recent visit.
Leave requested
The dates you are asking for and whether you need sick leave or work from home.
When is dental pain not suitable for an online certificate?
Dental pain is not suitable for an online certificate when it comes with swelling around the eye or neck, or swelling in the mouth or neck that makes it hard to breathe, swallow or speak. The NHS says those signs need an emergency department straight away.
The NHS also says to see a dentist if toothache lasts more than 2 days.
Get in person care as well after a knocked out tooth, a hard blow to the face, or bleeding after an extraction that will not stop.
DrCertificate is only for suitable non emergency situations. The platform does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and a doctor may decline any request that is not right for a chat consultation. Your health comes before any certificate, and a dentist or emergency team can look inside your mouth in a way a chat never can.
Which certificate should you choose for dental pain?
The sick leave option fits most people with dental pain. Pick the option that matches what your employer or school needs to know.
| Form option | When it suits dental pain | Usually shown to |
|---|---|---|
| Sick Leave for University or Work | Pain or recent dental work keeps you from working or attending class. Also used for a general medical certificate. | Employer or university |
| Work From Home | You can work but should not commute or meet customers while the pain settles. | Employer |
| Unfit to Travel | Dental pain or a recent procedure makes a planned trip unwise. | Airline or employer |
| Medical Fitness Certificate | You need a fit to work or good health note instead of leave. | Employer or school |

What happens if the doctor does not issue a certificate for dental pain?
If the doctor does not issue a certificate, you will not receive one and your payment is not refunded. The decision belongs to the independent doctor alone.
Doctors decline about 2% of requests. The usual reasons are a name and ID that do not match, symptoms and details that are inconsistent, or dental pain with warning signs that needs in person care.

Questions about medical certificates for dental pain
Yes, you can mention any dentist notes, scans or treatment records you already have when you fill in the form. Those details help the doctor understand your dental pain and decide on a certificate. The doctor on DrCertificate does not interpret results or give treatment advice.
The doctor decides the leave period, if any, after the chat consultation. In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms. Ask for the dates you need, explain why, and the doctor will judge whether they fit.
Acceptance depends on your employer, school or institution, not on DrCertificate. Each one sets its own rules on online medical notes. Check with HR or your school office before you apply, because payments are non refundable even if the place you submit to does not accept the certificate.
No. DrCertificate has no video or in person consultations. Every request is handled through an online form and a digital chat with a certified doctor. If your dental pain needs a physical examination, see a dentist or visit a clinic instead of applying online.
See a dentist if toothache lasts more than 2 days, as the NHS advises. Go to an emergency department straight away if swelling spreads around your eye or neck, or if swelling in your mouth or neck makes it hard to breathe, swallow or speak.
No. DrCertificate does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and the doctors on the platform only decide whether to issue a medical certificate. A dentist is the right person to find and fix the cause of dental pain. Use the certificate to cover time off while you arrange that care.
