Medical fitness certificate
For employee fitness, student fitness and good health notes. Choose Medical Fitness Certificate on the form.
People in Brunei can request an online fitness certificate or other medical certificate from DrCertificate without leaving home. An independent certified doctor reviews every request after a digital chat consultation.
Payment does not buy a certificate. The doctor decides whether one is appropriate, and issue is never automatic.
Start the online form, choose your certificate, and a doctor takes it from there.
Yes. Anyone in Brunei aged 16 or over can request an online fitness certificate or other medical certificate through DrCertificate. You fill in an online form, pay through Stripe, and an independent certified doctor reviews your request in a digital chat. If approved, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency situations only.
Workers, students and travellers are the people in Brunei who most often need a medical certificate. Employers ask for proof of fitness when hiring, students at schools and Universiti Brunei Darussalam get asked for health notes, and travellers sometimes need a note around a flight.
Hiring is a common trigger. Section 16 of Brunei's Employment Order 2009 requires every employee entering a contract of service to be medically examined by a medical practitioner at the employer's expense, with the certificate obtained before the contract is signed.
Foreign workers follow a separate route. The Ministry of Health's Foreign Worker Health Screening programme issues a medical fitness for employment certificate, which the Department of Immigration and National Registration requires before it issues an Employment Pass. New foreign workers must also complete a medical examination in their home country before arriving, including blood tests for communicable diseases and a chest x-ray.
An online consultation cannot run blood tests or take an x-ray.
DrCertificate's online request fits other moments. Picture a student asked for a good health note before a sports day, an office worker in Bandar Seri Begawan who catches a fever during heavy tropical rain, or a visitor at Brunei International Airport who feels too unwell to fly. Whether an organisation accepts the note is up to that organisation.
Every certificate below sits under one of four options on the form
The right certificate depends on who is asking for it and why. The DrCertificate form has four options: Sick Leave, Unfit to Travel, Work From Home and Medical Fitness Certificate.

Have your personal details, a working email address and the dates you need covered ready before you apply. Missing details slow the review down.
Your name must match your ID as written on it, or the doctor may decline the request.
Full name and ID details that match, plus an email address you check.
Why you need the certificate and the dates it should cover.
Any form or wording your employer, school or airline asked for.
When symptoms started and any existing records that support the request.
The doctor reads the information you submitted and decides independently whether a certificate is appropriate. Paying for the review does not guarantee a certificate.
DrCertificate is a platform that connects you with the doctor. DrCertificate does not diagnose, treat or prescribe.
The doctor checks that your name and ID details match, that your symptoms or reason fit the dates you asked for, and that the request suits an online assessment. Questions may follow in the chat. A doctor might ask when a symptom began, whether you have any existing conditions, or what the receiving organisation needs from the note. Consistent answers make the decision easier.
The certificate is issued only if the doctor finds it appropriate.
If the doctor declines, you do not receive a certificate and the payment is not refunded. Doctors decline when details are wrong, for example a name that does not match the ID, or when the symptoms and details shared are inconsistent.
Payments are non refundable. The one exception is a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.
If an online note does not fit your situation, visit a local clinic or hospital in Brunei in person. For questions, email care@drcertificate.com.
The price for Brunei is shown on the form before you pay through Stripe. Fees depend on the country.
The fee covers the doctor's review of your request and, if approved, the PDF certificate by email. The fee is non refundable, including when the doctor declines.

A typical request takes about 30 minutes. Missing details, a name that does not match the ID, or slow replies to follow up questions can stretch that.
Doctors handle fitness cases from 9 am to 9 pm IST, Monday to Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm IST on Sunday. Brunei runs two and a half hours ahead of IST.
A request sent outside those hours waits for the next window.
| Day | Hours in IST | Hours in Brunei time |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Saturday | 9 am to 9 pm | 11:30 am to 11:30 pm |
| Sunday | 10 am to 8 pm | 12:30 pm to 10:30 pm |
The employer, school, airline or sports body receiving the certificate decides whether to accept it, so check with them before you apply. DrCertificate encourages every customer to confirm that the place of submission accepts online medical notes.
Official rules shape hiring in Brunei. The Employment Order 2009 requires a medical examination by a medical practitioner before a contract of service is signed, paid for by the employer. Foreign workers applying for an Employment Pass need the Ministry of Health's medical fitness for employment certificate from its Foreign Worker Health Screening programme. An online certificate does not replace either requirement.
Airlines set their own rules. Fit to fly and unfit to fly needs differ from one airline to the next, and an airline may want its own form.
Ask first. A short message now can save a wasted fee.
An online certificate is not right for emergencies, legal matters, insurance claims or anyone under 16. In an emergency in Brunei, call 991 for an ambulance or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
DrCertificate certificates are not for legal purposes, must not be used for insurance and are not for submission in India.
Visit a clinic or hospital in person when you need a physical examination, blood tests or an x-ray, when symptoms are severe or getting worse, or when the requesting body insists on an in person check. The medical examination new foreign workers complete before arriving in Brunei is one example.
DrCertificate is an online platform, operated by Health Venture OU, that connects people in Brunei and nine other South East Asian countries with independent doctors who may issue a medical certificate after a digital chat.
The reasons below come from how the service works.
All doctors on the platform are registered with a medical council and hold MBBS, MD or MS qualifications.
Customers are encouraged to check that the place of submission accepts online medical notes before choosing the service.
Sports fitness, fit to fly and fit to work certificates use the Medical Fitness Certificate option. A general medical certificate uses the Sick Leave option.
Doctors decline requests when the name and ID do not match or when the symptoms and details shared are inconsistent.
No. DrCertificate has no video or in person consultations. An independent certified doctor reviews your online form and talks with you through a digital chat if questions come up. If the doctor decides your situation needs a physical examination, a local clinic in Brunei is the better choice.
Whether a certificate covers past dates is the doctor's decision. Tell the doctor the dates you need and when your symptoms started. The doctor decides what is medically appropriate, and a certificate cannot be corrected once issued unless the medical team made the error.
Your airline decides whether to accept a fit to fly or unfit to fly certificate for travel through Brunei International Airport. Contact the airline before you apply, because it may ask for its own form or set a limit on how recent the note must be.
No. The Department of Immigration and National Registration requires the Ministry of Health's medical fitness for employment certificate before issuing an Employment Pass. New foreign workers also need a medical examination in their home country, with blood tests and a chest x-ray, before arriving.
Your details go to the doctor reviewing your request so the doctor can make a decision, and payment runs through Stripe. For questions about how your data is stored or handled, email care@drcertificate.com before you apply.
A fitness note is generally valid for 30 days in most South East Asian countries, while sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms. The receiving organisation in Brunei may apply its own rules, so confirm what it expects first.
Email care@drcertificate.com for help with your request. A verified technical fault reported within 24 hours is the only case where a refund applies. The registered address is KMC Armstrong Corporate Center, H.V. Dela Costa, Salcedo Village, Makati City, 1227 Metro Manila, Philippines.
Start the online form once you know the certificate fits your need. An independent doctor decides whether to issue it, and the fee is non refundable even if the request is declined. Questions first? Email care@drcertificate.com.
