Sick leave certificate
For days off work or university because of illness. Choose the Sick Leave option for university or work on the form. A general medical certificate also uses this option.
Need a doctor's note but cannot get to a clinic? DrCertificate lets people in Indonesia request an online sick leave certificate from home, the office or a hotel room.
An independent certified doctor reviews every request after a digital chat consultation. The doctor decides whether to issue a certificate, so approval is never automatic.
Fill in the online form, pay through Stripe and wait for the doctor's review. Approved certificates arrive by email as a PDF.
Yes. People in Indonesia aged 16 or older can request an online sick leave certificate through DrCertificate. You fill in an online form, pay through Stripe, and an independent certified doctor reviews your request by digital chat. If approved, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency situations only.
Workers, students and travellers in Indonesia most often need a medical certificate at short notice. An employer may want proof of a sick day, a campus may want a note for a missed class, and a traveller may need paperwork around a flight.
Office staff in Jakarta know the problem. Waking up with a fever and then sitting in traffic for an hour to reach a clinic is the last thing anyone wants. Factory and warehouse workers in the industrial zones around Bekasi and Karawang face the same choice before a shift.
Students in Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya often need a note to meet attendance or exam rules. Each of these people needs paperwork fast, without losing half a day.
The rainy season, roughly November to March, brings a rise in fevers, colds and dengue cases.
Travellers add another layer. Visitors passing through Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Jakarta or I Gusti Ngurah Rai in Bali sometimes fall ill mid trip and need a note for an airline or an employer back home.
An online request through DrCertificate fits these moments because you apply from your phone. Whether the employer, school or airline accepts the note is their call, so check with them first.
Four options appear on the DrCertificate application form
The right certificate depends on what your employer, school or airline asked for. DrCertificate offers four options on the application form, and each one covers a defined set of needs.
For days off work or university because of illness. Choose the Sick Leave option for university or work on the form. A general medical certificate also uses this option.
For days when you can still work but should stay home while unwell. Choose the Work From Home option on the form.
For employee or student fitness and good health notes. Fit to work, sports fitness and fit to fly certificates all use the Medical Fitness Certificate option.
For when illness means you should not travel and an airline or employer wants proof. Choose the Unfit to Travel option on the form.
You get a medical certificate online in Indonesia by filling in the DrCertificate form, paying through Stripe and waiting for an independent doctor's decision by email. Every step happens on your phone or laptop, in writing.
No video calls. No clinic visit.
Approved certificates come as a PDF that you can forward to HR, a lecturer or an airline.

Open the DrCertificate form, pick the certificate you need and enter your name, ID details, email, symptoms and the dates you want covered.
Pay the fee for your country at the Stripe checkout. Payment sends your request to a doctor for review.
An independent certified doctor reads your form through a digital chat and may send follow-up questions. Reply quickly to avoid delays.
If the doctor approves, your certificate arrives as a PDF by email. If the doctor declines, no certificate is issued.
You'll continue on the secure DrCertificate application form.
Have your personal details, the reason and dates for the certificate, any wording your organisation asked for and a note of your symptoms ready before you start. Gathering these first saves time and cuts down on follow-up questions.
A name that does not match your ID is one of the main reasons a request gets declined.
Your full name as shown on your ID, your ID details and an email address you check often.
Why you need the certificate and the start and end dates you want it to cover.
Any format or wording your employer, school or airline asked for.
When your symptoms began, how they affect you and any existing medical records.
The doctor reads your submitted information and decides independently whether a certificate is appropriate. Paying for the review does not guarantee a certificate. The decision rests with the doctor alone.
The doctor looks at your symptoms, when they started, the dates you asked for and whether your details are consistent with each other. If something is unclear, the doctor may ask follow-up questions in the chat before deciding. Answering with accurate detail, and without delay, gives the doctor what is needed to reach a fair decision. Vague or contradictory answers make approval harder.
DrCertificate is a platform, not a clinic. The platform does not diagnose, treat or prescribe.
A certificate is issued only when the doctor finds it appropriate for what you have described.
If the doctor cannot issue your certificate, the payment is not refunded, and the next step is to see a doctor in person at a local clinic or puskesmas. Doctors decline about 2% of requests, usually because the name and ID do not match or the symptoms and details shared are inconsistent.
Payments are non refundable. The one exception is a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.
Questions about a decision can go to care@drcertificate.com.
The fee for Indonesia is shown at the Stripe checkout before you pay, and prices depend on the country you apply from. The fee covers the doctor's review and, if approved, your PDF certificate by email.
The fee is non refundable, including when the doctor declines.
| Country | Price per certificate |
|---|---|
| Indonesia | Shown at checkout before payment |
| Singapore | 25 SGD |
| Philippines | 399 pesos |
| Malaysia | 30 MYR |

Turnaround is about 30 minutes from a complete request. Missing details, a name that does not match your ID or follow up questions from the doctor can add time.
Fitness cases are reviewed during set hours in Indian Standard Time. The table converts them to Jakarta time, WIB. Readers in Bali or Makassar on WITA add one hour to the WIB times, and readers in Papua on WIT add two.
| Day | IST hours | WIB hours |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Saturday | 9 am to 9 pm | 10.30 am to 10.30 pm |
| Sunday | 10 am to 8 pm | 11.30 am to 9.30 pm |
Acceptance is decided by the receiving organisation, so check with your employer, school, airline or sports body before you apply. Ask whether they take online medical notes and whether they need set wording.
Indonesian labour law ties sick leave to a doctor. The official explanation of Article 93 paragraph 2 point a of Law 13 of 2003 on Manpower defines a sick worker as one who is sick according to a doctor's statement.
Longer illness has its own wage rules. Government Regulation 36 of 2021 on Wages sets the share of wages an employer pays a worker who is too sick to work, as shown in the table.
Airlines write their own fit to fly and unfit to fly rules, and those rules differ from one carrier to the next. Read your airline's medical policy first.
| Period of sickness | Share of wages paid |
|---|---|
| First 4 months | 100 percent |
| Next 4 months | 75 percent |
| Next 4 months | 50 percent |
| After that, until the employer ends the employment | 25 percent |
An online certificate is not right for you in Indonesia if you face an emergency, need the note for legal or insurance use, or are under 16. In an emergency, call 112, call 119 for a medical emergency, or go to the nearest hospital emergency department, known locally as IGD.
Certificates from DrCertificate are not for legal purposes, insurance claims or submission in India. Applicants must be 16 or older.
Visit a local clinic, puskesmas or hospital in person if your symptoms are severe or getting worse, or if you need an examination, tests or treatment. Chest pain, trouble breathing or a high fever that will not break needs urgent care, not a form.
DrCertificate is an online platform run by Health Venture OU that connects people in South East Asia with independent doctors for medical certificates. The reasons below come straight from how the service works.
All doctors on the platform are registered with a medical council and hold MBBS, MD or MS qualifications.
Doctors decline about 2% of requests when the name and ID do not match or the symptoms and details shared are inconsistent.
Sports fitness, fit to fly and fit to work certificates use the Medical Fitness Certificate option. A general medical certificate uses the Sick Leave option.
In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms, and fitness notes are generally valid for 30 days.
No. DrCertificate has no video or in person consultations. An independent doctor reviews your online form and may ask follow up questions through a digital chat. If your situation needs a physical examination, the doctor will not issue a certificate, and you should visit a local clinic or puskesmas instead.
The doctor decides whether a certificate can cover dates before your request. Share the real start date of your symptoms and the dates you need. The doctor issues a certificate only for dates that match what you describe, so a backdated note is never guaranteed.
In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms. Fitness notes are generally valid for 30 days. The doctor sets the dates based on your information, and your employer's own leave policy still applies.
Your details go to the reviewing doctor to assess your request and, if approved, to issue your certificate. Card payments are handled through Stripe. For questions about how your data is stored or used, email the DrCertificate support team at care@drcertificate.com before or after you apply.
You can request one through the Unfit to Travel option on the form, and the doctor decides whether to issue it. Airlines flying from Soekarno Hatta, Ngurah Rai and other Indonesian airports set their own medical rules, so read your airline's policy before you apply.
Email care@drcertificate.com for help with a request, a payment or a technical fault. A verified technical fault must be reported within 24 hours to qualify for a refund. A certificate cannot be corrected once issued unless the fault came from the medical team.
Start the online form once you know an online note fits your need. An independent doctor decides whether to issue your certificate, and fees are non refundable. Questions first? Email care@drcertificate.com.
