Sick leave certificate
For days missed at work, university or school because of illness. Choose the Sick Leave option on the form. A general medical certificate uses the same option.
People in Myanmar can request an online sick leave certificate through DrCertificate, a platform that connects you with independent certified doctors.
You fill in a short form and pay. A doctor holding an MBBS, MD or MS degree then reviews your request in a digital chat consultation.
Nothing is automatic.
The doctor decides whether a certificate is appropriate, and approved certificates arrive by email as a PDF.
Yes. Anyone in Myanmar aged 16 or over can request an online sick leave certificate through DrCertificate. You complete an online form, pay through Stripe, and an independent certified doctor reviews the request by digital chat. If approved, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency situations only.
Office staff, factory workers, students and travellers in Myanmar are the groups who ask for medical certificates most often. Each needs a note for a different reason, from a missed shift to a delayed flight.
Workers come first.
The ILO's overview of the Leave and Holidays Act 1951 and its 2018 Rules links paid sick leave to producing a medical certificate. A fever that keeps a Yangon office worker or a garment worker at home can still call for paperwork.
Weather plays a part too. The monsoon months, roughly May to October, bring heavy rain, flooded streets and a rise in dengue and stomach infections. Getting to a clinic while unwell in that weather is hard work.
Students at universities in Yangon and Mandalay sometimes need a note for a missed exam or class. Travellers passing through Yangon International Airport may fall ill before a flight and need an unfit to travel note, while others need a fitness note before a trip.
An online request lets each of these people start from home on a phone. Whether the employer, university or airline accepts the note is their decision.
Four options appear on the DrCertificate application form
The right certificate depends on why you need it. DrCertificate's application form shows four options, and each one covers a set of everyday needs.
Not sure which to pick? Describe the purpose in the form so the doctor can see what the note is for.
For days missed at work, university or school because of illness. Choose the Sick Leave option on the form. A general medical certificate uses the same option.
For when you can still work but should stay home while unwell. Choose the Work From Home option on the form.
For proof of good health for a job, studies or sport. Sports fitness, fit to fly and fit to work requests all use the Medical Fitness Certificate option.
For when illness means you should not travel and your airline wants a doctor's note. Choose the Unfit to Travel option on the form.
You get a medical certificate online in Myanmar by completing DrCertificate's form, paying through Stripe and waiting for a doctor's decision by email. The whole process happens in writing.
There are no video or in person consultations.

Enter your details, choose the certificate type, and describe your symptoms and the dates you need covered.
Pay the fee shown at checkout. The fee pays for the doctor's review, not for a guaranteed certificate.
An independent certified doctor reads your request in a digital chat and may send follow up questions. Reply promptly to avoid delays.
If the doctor approves, the certificate arrives as a PDF in your email inbox. If the details do not support a certificate, the doctor declines the request.

Have your personal details, a working email address, the reason and dates for the certificate, and any wording your organisation asked for ready before you start.
Preparing these first saves time and avoids follow up questions.
Full name and ID details that match each other, plus an email address you check often.
Why you need the certificate and the dates it should cover.
Any form, format or wording your employer, school or airline asked for.
When symptoms started, how they affect you, and any existing reports or prescriptions.
The doctor reads everything you submitted and decides whether a certificate is appropriate. The review looks at your symptoms, when they started, the dates you asked for and whether your name and ID details match.
Questions may follow.
If something is unclear, the doctor can ask follow up questions in the digital chat. Clear, honest answers help the doctor reach a decision sooner.
DrCertificate is a platform, not a clinic. The platform does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and paying the fee does not guarantee a certificate. The doctor issues one only after finding it appropriate for your situation and declines the request when the details do not support it.
If the doctor cannot issue your certificate, the request is declined and the fee is not refunded. Doctors decline about 2% of requests, usually when the name and ID do not match or the symptoms and details shared are inconsistent.
Payments are non refundable. The one exception is a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.
After a decline, visit a local clinic or hospital in Myanmar for an in person assessment. For questions about your request, email care@drcertificate.com.
The price of an online medical certificate depends on your country, and DrCertificate shows the fee for Myanmar on the form before you pay. For comparison, the fee is 25 SGD in Singapore, 399 pesos in the Philippines and 30 MYR in Malaysia.
The fee covers the doctor's review and, if approved, the PDF certificate by email. Payment goes through Stripe.
The fee is non refundable, including when the doctor declines.
| Country | Fee |

DrCertificate's typical turnaround is about 30 minutes after you submit and pay. Missing details, a name that does not match your ID, or follow up questions from the doctor can stretch that time.
Fitness cases follow set hours.
Doctors handle fitness requests from 9 am to 9 pm IST, Monday to Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm IST on Sunday. Myanmar time runs one hour ahead of IST, which means 10 am to 10 pm Monday to Saturday and 11 am to 9 pm on Sunday in Myanmar.
| Day | Fitness case hours, IST | Fitness case hours, Myanmar time |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Saturday | 9 am to 9 pm | 10 am to 10 pm |
| Sunday | 10 am to 8 pm | 11 am to 9 pm |
Your employer, school or airline decides whether to accept an online certificate, so check with them before you apply. DrCertificate encourages every customer to confirm that online medical notes are accepted at the place of submission.
Myanmar's labour rules give workers good reason to keep proper paperwork. The ILO's overview of the Leave and Holidays Act 1951 and Rules 2018 says an employee with at least six months of service who produces a medical certificate is entitled to 30 days of paid sick leave a year, paid by the employer.
Newer staff have rights too. Under the ILO's overview of Rule 43, a worker with less than six months of service and without Social Security Board insurance can ask for medical leave without pay.
An agreement for less favourable sick leave that reduces the employer's liability is null and void under section 9 of the Act, according to the same ILO overview.
Airlines set their own rules for fit to fly and unfit to fly notes. Ask yours what it needs.
An online certificate is not right for emergencies, legal matters, insurance claims or anyone under 16. In a medical emergency in Myanmar, call 192 for an ambulance or go straight to the nearest hospital.
DrCertificate certificates are not for legal purposes and must not be used for insurance. The certificate is also not for submission in India.
Visit a doctor in person at a local clinic or hospital if symptoms are severe, getting worse, or need a physical examination, tests or treatment. Chest pain, trouble breathing, a high fever that will not come down and heavy bleeding all need urgent in person care.
DrCertificate is an online platform operated by Health Venture OU that serves people in 10 South East Asian countries, including Myanmar.
The reasons are plain ones.
All doctors on the platform are registered with a medical council and hold an MBBS, MD or MS degree.
Doctors decline about 2% of requests when names and ID details do not match or the symptoms shared are inconsistent. A doctor's judgement stands behind every certificate.
In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms, and fitness notes are generally valid for 30 days.
Customers are encouraged to check that the place of submission accepts online medical notes before choosing the service.
No. DrCertificate does not offer video or in person consultations. An independent certified doctor reviews your online form and may ask follow up questions through a digital chat. If your condition needs a physical examination, visit a local clinic or hospital in Myanmar instead of applying online.
Covering past dates is the doctor's decision. Explain in the form when your symptoms started and which dates you need. The doctor weighs whether the details support those dates and may decline a request that does not add up. Sick leave notes in most South East Asian countries go up to 7 days for generic symptoms.
DrCertificate uses the details you submit so an independent doctor can review your request, and Stripe handles the payment. For questions about how your data is stored or used, email care@drcertificate.com before you apply. Enter accurate details only, because a name that does not match your ID can lead to a decline.
Email care@drcertificate.com for help with a request, a payment or a technical problem. A verified technical fault must be reported within 24 hours to qualify for a refund. The registered address is KMC Armstrong Corporate Center, H.V. Dela Costa, Salcedo Village, Makati City, 1227 Metro Manila, Philippines.
You can request an unfit to travel or medical fitness certificate before flying from Yangon International Airport, but your airline decides whether to accept it. Airlines set their own rules for travel notes. Ask the airline what it needs, then choose the matching option on the DrCertificate form.
Paid sick leave depends on your employer accepting the certificate. The ILO's overview of Myanmar's Leave and Holidays Act says employees with at least six months of service who produce a medical certificate are entitled to 30 days of paid sick leave a year. Confirm with your employer that an online note is accepted.
Start the online form and an independent certified doctor will review your request. The doctor decides whether to issue a certificate, and fees are non refundable. Questions first? Email care@drcertificate.com.
