What is a work from home certificate?
A work from home certificate is a medical note in which a doctor recommends that you work from home for a period because of a health reason. When the doctor finds it medically supported, the certificate can include a recommended period or duration.
The certificate supports your request. Your employer or school still makes the decision.
A work from home certificate is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. DrCertificate does not diagnose, treat or prescribe, and the doctor's note is limited to the recommendation about where you work.

When might you need a work from home certificate?
You might need a work from home certificate when a health problem makes the commute or the office hard to manage, but you can still do your job from home. Companies often request a medical record backing up a remote work application, and a physician's letter gives HR something tangible to assess.

Employers and schools usually expect a work from home certificate to show your name, the doctor's details and the period the recommendation covers. Rules differ by employer, institution, airline and country, so check what your recipient wants before you apply.
In the Philippines, Republic Act No. 11165 defines telecommuting as a work arrangement that lets a private sector employee work from an alternative workplace using telecommunication or computer technologies. The same law says a private employer may offer a telecommuting program to its employees on a voluntary basis, on terms both sides agree.

Where can a work from home certificate not be used?
A DrCertificate work from home certificate cannot be used in India, for legal purposes or for insurance. Applicants must be at least 16, and the service is only for suitable non emergency situations.
Ministry of Labour and Employment rules say an employer may let a worker work from home, subject to the conditions agreed with workers, in industrial establishments covered by standing orders, but DrCertificate notes are still not for submission in India.

What happens if the doctor cannot issue your work from home certificate?
If the doctor cannot issue your work from home certificate, you do not receive one and the payment is not refunded. Doctors decline about 2% of requests, mostly when details are wrong or do not fit together.
A name that does not match the ID is a common cause. Symptoms and details that contradict each other are another. A doctor may also decide that your situation needs an in person examination or tests. The online service cannot offer either of those. In that case, visit a local clinic for a physical check.
Refunds apply only to a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.

Acceptance of a work from home certificate depends on your employer's, school's or airline's own policy. DrCertificate cannot promise that any recipient will accept it, so check before you apply.
All doctors on the platform are registered with a medical council. A recipient who wants to verify the note can look up the issuing doctor's name and registration with that council.
