For when illness stops you from flying and you need a doctor's note to postpone travel or explain a missed flight. Choose the Unfit to Travel option.
Need an unfit to fly certificate in Singapore after falling ill before a flight? DrCertificate lets people in Singapore request one online through a short form.
An independent certified doctor reviews every request after a digital chat consultation. Issue is never automatic.
The doctor decides whether a certificate fits your situation, based on what you share. Start the online form, choose the Unfit to Travel option and pay 25 SGD through Stripe.
Yes, anyone in Singapore aged 16 or over can request an unfit to fly certificate online through DrCertificate. You fill in the online form, pay through Stripe, and an independent certified doctor reviews your request in a digital chat. If approved, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency situations only.
Travellers, workers and students in Singapore who fall ill shortly before a flight are the people who most often need an unfit to fly certificate. The note records a doctor's view that you should not fly for a stated period. Airlines and employers often ask to see that kind of document when plans change.
Changi Airport handles a constant flow of business travellers, students flying home between terms and visitors on short stays. A fever the night before departure can upset all of those plans.
Local conditions play a part too. Haze periods can worsen breathing problems, and dengue cases often climb in the middle of the year. Flu circulates year round in a crowded city. A traveller asking for a rebooking, a worker cancelling an overseas trip and a student delaying the flight home may each want a written record of why they did not fly.
An online request lets you start from your hotel room or home instead of crossing the island while unwell.
Whether an airline, employer or school accepts that note is their call, so check first.
Four options on the application form
You need the Unfit to Travel option if illness stops you from flying. The application form has four options in total, and each certificate DrCertificate offers in Singapore sits under one of them.

For employee, student and good health fitness. Fit to fly, sports fitness and fit to work certificates also use the Medical Fitness Certificate option.
For time off work or university when you are unwell. A general medical certificate uses the same Sick Leave option.
For when you can still work but should stay home while you recover. Choose the Work From Home option.

Have your personal details, a working email address, your flight dates and a clear account of your symptoms ready before you apply. Missing details slow the review down.
Two minutes of preparation can save a round of follow-up questions.
Your full name and ID details as shown on your passport or NRIC, plus an email address you check.
Why you cannot fly, the original flight date and the dates the certificate needs to cover.
Any form or wording your airline, employer or school asked for.
When symptoms started, how they have changed, and any existing medical records linked to them.
The doctor reviews the information you submit and decides independently whether an unfit to fly certificate is appropriate. Paying the fee starts the review.
Payment does not guarantee a certificate.
During the digital chat consultation, the doctor reads your symptoms, when they started, your travel date and the period you are asking about. The doctor also checks that your name and ID details match and that the account you give hangs together. Follow-up questions are normal, and the doctor may ask about anything that is unclear.
Answer them promptly and accurately, because gaps slow the review. Short, plain answers work best.
DrCertificate does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. The platform connects you with an independent doctor, and that doctor issues a certificate only when the details shared support one.
If the doctor cannot issue your certificate, the payment is not refunded, and seeing a clinic in person is the best next step. Doctors decline about 2% of requests, when the name and ID do not match or the symptoms and details shared are inconsistent.
Fees are non refundable. The one exception is a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.
A declined request can mean your situation needs a physical examination. A general practitioner or polyclinic in Singapore can assess you face to face. For questions about your request, email care@drcertificate.com.

You can usually get a decision on an unfit to fly certificate in Singapore in about 30 minutes. Missing details, a name that does not match the ID, or follow-up questions in the chat can add time.
The published doctor hours for fitness cases are 9 am to 9 pm IST Monday to Saturday, and 10 am to 8 pm IST on Sunday. Singapore runs two and a half hours ahead of IST. In Singapore time, that means 11.30 am to 11.30 pm Monday to Saturday, and 12.30 pm to 10.30 pm on Sunday.
Apply early if your flight is close.
The receiving organisation decides whether to accept an online unfit to fly certificate, so ask your airline, employer or school before you apply. DrCertificate cannot promise acceptance anywhere.
For work, the Ministry of Manpower publishes rules on paid sick leave and the medical certificates that support it. Read those next to your employer's own policy, and see the online sick leave certificate in Singapore page for the basics.
Airlines set their own rules. Singapore Airlines asks for medical clearance from a doctor when a passenger needs special attention or medical equipment on board, a stretcher or supplementary oxygen tank for example, or when fitness to travel is in doubt. The airline asks to be told early, at least 5 working days before the flight.
Missed flights work differently. Singapore Airlines' Conditions of Carriage say that if illness stops a passenger who has already started travelling from flying within the ticket's validity, the carrier may extend validity until the passenger is fit to travel according to a medical certificate, unless the fare's regulations preclude it.
Fit to fly and unfit to fly needs differ by airline, so read yours.
An online unfit to fly certificate is not right for emergencies, legal matters, insurance claims or anyone under 16. In Singapore, call 995 for an ambulance if you have chest pain, trouble breathing, heavy bleeding or sudden confusion.
DrCertificate certificates are not for legal purposes, must not be used for insurance, and are not for submission in India. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
A clinic or hospital in Singapore is the better choice when symptoms are severe or getting worse, when you need a physical examination or tests, or when you need treatment. A doctor in the room can do things a chat cannot.
People in Singapore use DrCertificate because the service is upfront about who decides, what it offers and what it does not.
Every doctor on the platform is registered with a medical council and holds an MBBS, MD or MS qualification.
The form is clear. Unfit to fly requests use the Unfit to Travel option, while fit to fly, sports fitness and fit to work certificates use the Medical Fitness Certificate option. A general medical certificate uses the Sick Leave option.
DrCertificate is open about declines. Doctors turn down about 2% of requests, when details are wrong, a name and ID do not match, or the symptoms shared do not add up.
Durations are realistic too, since in most South East Asian countries sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms. Fitness notes are generally valid for 30 days.
Customers are encouraged to confirm that the place of submission accepts online medical notes before choosing the service.
No. DrCertificate does not offer video or in person consultations. An independent certified doctor reviews your request through a digital chat consultation after you submit the online form. If your symptoms need a physical examination, the doctor may decline, and a clinic visit in Singapore is the right next step.
Whether a certificate covers past dates is the doctor's decision, not something DrCertificate can promise. Explain in the form when your symptoms started and which flight you missed. The doctor weighs that information and decides what period, if any, the certificate can properly cover based on the details you share.
The details you enter are used by the reviewing doctor to assess your request and, if approved, to prepare your certificate, which goes to the email address you provide. Card payments are handled through Stripe. For any question about how your data is handled, email care@drcertificate.com before or after applying.
Email care@drcertificate.com for help with a request, a payment or a technical problem. Report any technical fault within 24 hours, because that is the only case where a refund is considered. The postal address is KMC Armstrong Corporate Center, H.V. Dela Costa, Salcedo Village, Makati City, 1227 Metro Manila, Philippines.
Yes, if your situation is not an emergency and you are 16 or over. Apply as early as you can and tell your airline straight away. Singapore Airlines, for example, asks for at least 5 working days' notice when medical clearance is needed. If you feel seriously unwell at the airport, get urgent help on site.
No. Once issued, a DrCertificate certificate cannot be corrected unless the error came from the medical team. Check your name, ID details, dates and email address carefully before you submit the form, because mistakes on your side cannot be fixed afterwards.
