Unfit to fly certificate
For when you should not travel by air because of illness or injury. Choose the Unfit to Travel option.
DrCertificate lets people request an unfit to fly certificate in Cambodia online, whether you are in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or a provincial town. An independent certified doctor reviews each request after a digital chat consultation.
Paying does not mean you get a certificate.
The doctor reads your details, may ask follow-up questions in the chat, and decides whether an unfit to fly certificate is appropriate for your situation. On the application form, pick the Unfit to Travel option. Approved certificates arrive as a PDF by email. Tap Apply now to open the form.
Yes. People in Cambodia aged 16 or over can request an unfit to fly certificate online through DrCertificate. You fill in the online form, pay through Stripe, and an independent certified doctor reviews your request by digital chat. If approved, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency situations only.
Travellers, workers and students in Cambodia most often need an unfit to fly certificate when illness or injury strikes close to a flight. A doctor's note gives an airline, employer or school a written record that flying was not advised at that time.
Visitors are one group. Tourists heading to the Angkor temples near Siem Reap or staying in Phnom Penh sometimes fall ill days before a return flight and need paperwork to ask the airline or travel agent about changing the booking.
The rainy season, roughly May to October, brings fever and stomach bugs. The hot months before it bring heat exhaustion.
Residents fly too. Office workers in Phnom Penh travel for regional meetings, and students fly home between terms. When a fever or ear infection hits the night before departure, a clinic queue is hard to fit in. An online request through DrCertificate can be made from a hotel room or from home, and an independent doctor reviews it by chat.
Whether an airline, employer or school accepts an online certificate is their call. Check with them first.
Match your situation to the right option on the form
The application form has four options: Sick Leave, Unfit to Travel, Work From Home and Medical Fitness Certificate. Every certificate below fits one of them.
For when you should not travel by air because of illness or injury. Choose the Unfit to Travel option.
For when an airline asks for proof that you are well enough to fly. Choose the Medical Fitness Certificate option.
For time off work or university because of illness. Choose the Sick Leave option.
For when you can still work but should stay home. Choose the Work From Home option.
For clubs, races or training programmes that ask for a fitness note. Choose the Medical Fitness Certificate option.
For a general doctor's note about your health. Choose the Sick Leave option.
Getting an unfit to fly certificate online in Cambodia takes four steps, all done on your phone or computer.
DrCertificate has no video or in person consultations. The doctor works only from your form and the chat.

Enter your name, ID details, email and travel dates. Choose the Unfit to Travel option and describe your symptoms.
Pay the fee shown for your country on the Stripe checkout. The fee covers the doctor's review.
An independent certified doctor reads your request in a digital chat and may send follow-up questions. Reply quickly to avoid delays.
If the doctor approves, the certificate arrives by email as a PDF. If the doctor declines, no certificate is issued.

Having your details ready before you open the form is the simplest way to avoid delays with an unfit to fly certificate request.
A name that does not match your ID is one of the reasons doctors decline.
Your full name as shown on your ID, your date of birth and an email address you check often.
Why you cannot fly, your flight date and the dates you want the certificate to cover.
Any form or wording the airline, employer or school asked you to provide.
Your symptoms, when they started and any records from a recent clinic visit.
The doctor reviews your request by checking whether your symptoms, dates and personal details form a consistent picture that supports advising against air travel. DrCertificate does not diagnose, treat or prescribe. The platform connects you with an independent doctor, and that doctor makes the call.
Expect questions.
In the digital chat, the doctor may ask when your symptoms began, how severe they are, whether you have seen a doctor in person or what the airline has asked for. Clear, honest answers give the doctor what is needed to judge your case. Vague or conflicting answers make a certificate less probable.
The doctor also weighs whether your situation is better handled face to face. A certificate is issued only if the doctor finds it appropriate, and payment never changes that decision.
If the doctor thinks you need treatment, visit a clinic or hospital in Cambodia.
If the doctor cannot issue your unfit to fly certificate, the fee is not refunded, because you paid for the doctor's review, not for a guaranteed document. Doctors decline when details are wrong, like a name that does not match the ID, when symptoms and details do not add up, or when the case needs in person care.
Your next step is a visit to a local clinic or hospital in Cambodia, where a doctor can examine you.

The price of an online unfit to fly certificate depends on your country, and the amount for Cambodia appears on the form before you pay. For reference, DrCertificate charges 25 SGD in Singapore, 399 pesos in the Philippines and 30 MYR in Malaysia.
The fee covers the independent doctor's review and, if approved, the PDF certificate by email. Payment goes through Stripe.
Fees are non refundable, including when the doctor declines. The one exception is a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.

Turnaround for an unfit to fly certificate in Cambodia is about 30 minutes. Missing details, a name and ID mismatch or follow-up questions in the chat can stretch that.
Doctor hours for fitness cases run 9 am to 9 pm IST Monday to Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm IST on Sunday. Cambodia is 90 minutes ahead of IST.
Apply well before your flight if you can.
| Day | Hours in IST | Hours in Cambodia time |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Saturday | 9 am to 9 pm | 10:30 am to 10:30 pm |
| Sunday | 10 am to 8 pm | 11:30 am to 9:30 pm |
Acceptance of an online unfit to fly certificate is decided by the airline, employer or school receiving it, never by DrCertificate. Ask them first what they need.
Airlines set their own rules. Air Cambodia says passengers must confirm medical clearance before departure if they fall into listed statuses, which include having a disease that can be contagious during the flight or a health status that flying could worsen. Air Cambodia lists its accepted medical centres as general or specialised hospitals at national or provincial level or equivalent, approved clinics including SOS and Family, and, for foreign hospitals, a medical clinic selected by the passenger.
Other carriers flying from Cambodia may ask for different paperwork, and fit to fly and unfit to fly needs can differ by airline.
For work, check your contract and ask HR how sick leave evidence should be provided. Labour rules in Cambodia sit with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
One email to the airline or employer can save a wasted fee.
An online unfit to fly certificate is not right for emergencies, legal matters or insurance claims. In a medical emergency in Cambodia, call 119 for an ambulance or go straight to the nearest hospital.
DrCertificate certificates are not for legal purposes, must not be used for insurance and are not for submission in India. Applicants must be 16 or older.
See a clinic or hospital in person if you have chest pain, trouble breathing, a high fever that will not settle, or an injury that needs an examination or scan. Air Cambodia's travel advice says the carrier may refuse carriage for reasons of safety if a passenger's mental or physical state involves a hazard or risk to the passenger or to others.
Serious symptoms need a real examination.
DrCertificate is an online platform operated by Health Venture OU that connects people in Cambodia and nine other South East Asian countries with independent doctors.
All doctors on DrCertificate are registered with a medical council and hold MBBS, MD or MS qualifications.
Doctors decline about 2% of requests, when details are wrong or inconsistent, like a name and ID that do not match.
Fit to fly, sports fitness and fit to work certificates use the Medical Fitness Certificate option. A general medical certificate uses the Sick Leave option.
In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms, and fitness notes are generally valid for 30 days.
DrCertificate encourages you to check that the place of submission accepts online medical notes before you choose the service.
No. DrCertificate has no video or in person consultations. An independent certified doctor reviews your online form and talks with you through a digital chat. If the doctor feels your case needs a physical examination, you should visit a clinic or hospital in Cambodia instead.
Covering past dates is the doctor's decision, not yours. You can state the dates you need on the form, and the doctor decides what the certificate can cover based on your symptoms and timeline. A request that does not match the details you share may be declined.
DrCertificate uses the details you enter on the form so an independent doctor can review your request and so the certificate can reach your email. Card payments are handled by Stripe. For questions about how your data is stored, email care@drcertificate.com before you apply.
Use depends on the airline, not the airport. Air Cambodia asks passengers with listed health statuses to confirm medical clearance before departure and names the medical centres it accepts. Contact your airline before applying to check whether an online certificate from an independent doctor will be accepted.
No. DrCertificate certificates must not be used for insurance, including claims for a missed or cancelled flight. They are also not for legal purposes or submission in India. If your insurer needs medical evidence, ask them what they accept and see a clinic in person.
No, a certificate cannot be corrected once issued unless the fault came from the medical team. Check your name, ID details, email and dates carefully before you submit the form, since the doctor writes the certificate from what you enter.
Email care@drcertificate.com for help with a request, a payment or a technical problem. DrCertificate is operated by Health Venture OU, with an office at KMC Armstrong Corporate Center, Salcedo Village, Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Report a technical fault within 24 hours to be considered for a refund.
Open the form, choose the Unfit to Travel option and tell the doctor what is going on. An independent doctor decides whether to issue a certificate, and fees are non refundable. Questions first? Email care@drcertificate.com.
