Unfit to fly certificate
For travellers too unwell to fly who need a doctor's note for the airline. Choose Medical Certificate, Unfit to Travel on the form.
People anywhere in the Philippines, from Manila to Cebu and Davao, can request an unfit to fly certificate online through DrCertificate. An independent certified doctor reviews each request after a digital chat consultation.
Issue is never automatic.
The doctor decides whether a certificate is appropriate for your situation. If the doctor approves it, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. Start with the online form and choose the Unfit to Travel option.
Yes. Anyone in the Philippines aged 16 or over can request an unfit to fly certificate online through DrCertificate. You fill in the online form, choose the Unfit to Travel option, pay through Stripe, and an independent doctor reviews your request. If approved, the certificate arrives as a PDF by email. The service suits non emergency situations only.
Travellers who fall ill before a booked flight are the main group who need an unfit to fly certificate in the Philippines. Overseas Filipino workers returning to jobs abroad, students flying home between semesters and tourists hopping between islands all fit that picture.
Domestic flying is part of ordinary life here. Getting between Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao often means a plane, not a bus.
The rainy and typhoon months, roughly June to November, bring colds, flu and fever, and dengue cases rise in the wet season too. A traveller with a fever in Quezon City on the morning of a flight out of Ninoy Aquino International Airport needs proof for the airline, not a long clinic queue.
The same goes for a student in Cebu due to leave from Mactan Cebu International Airport, or a worker in Davao booked out of Francisco Bangoy International Airport.
An online request lets that traveller ask a doctor to review the situation from home while resting.
Whether the airline accepts the certificate is the airline's decision, so check with it first.
Four options on the form cover every certificate DrCertificate offers
The unfit to fly certificate is the right choice when illness stops you from taking a booked flight. The application form lists four options, and each certificate DrCertificate offers sits under one of them.
For travellers too unwell to fly who need a doctor's note for the airline. Choose Medical Certificate, Unfit to Travel on the form.
For time off work or university because of illness. Choose the Sick Leave option. A general medical certificate uses the same option.
For days when you can work but should stay home. Choose the Work From Home option.
For employee or student fitness and good health certificates. Fit to fly, fit to work and sports fitness certificates also use the Medical Fitness Certificate option.
Getting an unfit to fly certificate online takes four steps, all done from your phone or computer.
Consultations happen by digital chat only. DrCertificate has no video calls and no in person visits.

Enter your details, choose Medical Certificate, Unfit to Travel, and describe your symptoms and flight date.
The fee for the Philippines is 399 pesos, paid at checkout through Stripe.
An independent doctor reads your request and may ask follow up questions in the digital chat.
If the doctor approves your request, the certificate arrives as a PDF in your inbox.

Having your details ready before you start makes the doctor's review faster and lowers the chance of a declined request.
A name that does not match your ID is one of the common reasons for a decline.
Your full name as shown on your ID, your age and an email address you can open right away.
Your symptoms, when they started, and the flight date and booking you need the certificate for.
Any form or wording the airline asked for, so the doctor can see what the airline expects.
Recent test results or notes from an earlier visit, if you have them.
The doctor reads everything you submitted and decides independently whether an unfit to fly certificate is appropriate. Your fee pays for that review, not for a guaranteed certificate.
The doctor looks at your symptoms, when they started, your flight date and whether your details match your ID. If anything is unclear, the doctor may ask follow up questions in the chat, and a quick, honest reply keeps the review moving.
DrCertificate connects you with independent doctors and does not diagnose, treat or prescribe.
A certificate is issued only when the doctor finds it appropriate.
If the doctor cannot issue your certificate, the payment is not refunded, and the best next step is an in person visit to a local clinic or hospital. Doctors decline when details are wrong, like a name that does not match the ID, or when the symptoms and details shared do not fit together.
Payments are non refundable. The one exception is a verified technical fault reported within 24 hours.

An unfit to fly certificate request takes about 30 minutes from submission to the doctor's decision. Missing details, a name that does not match your ID or follow up questions in the chat can add time.
Doctor hours for fitness cases run 9 am to 9 pm India time Monday to Saturday and 10 am to 8 pm on Sunday. In Philippine time, that is 11:30 am to 11:30 pm Monday to Saturday and 12:30 pm to 10:30 pm on Sunday.
Apply as soon as you know you cannot fly.
Acceptance is decided by the organisation receiving the certificate, so ask the airline, employer or school before you apply. DrCertificate encourages every customer to confirm that the place of submission accepts online medical notes.
Airline rules differ.
Cebu Pacific asks for a valid medical certificate stating not fit to fly, with the doctor's signature, PRC number and official letterhead, when a passenger files a medical case request. Once Cebu Pacific approves a medical case, the options are free rebooking within 30 days of the original travel date for the first rebooking, conversion to a Travel Fund, or a refund to the original form of payment.
Ask Cebu Pacific whether a certificate from an online doctor meets those terms before you rely on it.
Fit to fly needs work differently. Philippine Airlines says its MEDIF must be signed by the attending physician no more than seven days before the flight and submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled flight.
For work absences, Philippine law gives employees with a year of service five days of service incentive leave, and each employer sets its own medical note rules.
An online certificate is not right for emergencies. Call 911, the national emergency hotline in the Philippines, or go to the nearest hospital if you have chest pain, trouble breathing, heavy bleeding or sudden weakness.
The certificate is not for legal purposes, insurance claims or submission in India. Applicants must be 16 or older.
See a doctor in person at a local clinic or hospital when symptoms are severe or getting worse, when you need an examination or tests, or when the airline insists on a physical assessment. Online review suits a clear, non emergency illness that a doctor can judge from your description and answers in the chat.
DrCertificate is an online platform, operated by Health Venture OU, that connects people in ten South East Asian countries with independent certified doctors. The Philippines address is KMC Armstrong Corporate Center, H.V. Dela Costa, Salcedo Village, Makati City, 1227 Metro Manila.
The reasons below are plain facts about how the service works.
All doctors on the platform are registered with a medical council and hold MBBS, MD or MS qualifications.
Doctors decline a small share of requests, when names and IDs do not match or the details shared do not add up.
Fit to fly, fit to work and sports fitness use the Medical Fitness Certificate option. A general medical certificate uses the Sick Leave option.
Customers are encouraged to check acceptance before applying.
In most South East Asian countries, sick leave and work from home notes go up to 7 days for generic symptoms, and fitness notes are valid for 30 days.
No video call or clinic visit is needed. DrCertificate works through an online form and a digital chat with an independent doctor. If your symptoms are severe, or the airline wants a physical examination, visit a local clinic or hospital in person instead of applying online.
Whether a certificate can cover past dates is up to the reviewing doctor. Explain on the form when your symptoms began and which flight you missed or must cancel. The doctor decides what dates, if any, the certificate can cover based on the details you share.
You can submit the certificate to your airline after missing a flight from any Philippine airport, but the airline decides whether to accept it. Cebu Pacific, for example, asks for a doctor's signature, PRC number and official letterhead. Confirm the airline's terms before you apply.
Your personal details are used for the doctor's review and to issue the certificate in your name. Enter your name as it is written on your ID. For questions about how your data is stored or handled, email care@drcertificate.com before you submit the form.
A certificate cannot be corrected once issued, unless the mistake came from the medical team. Check your name, dates and flight details carefully on the form before you pay. A wrong detail you entered yourself stays on the certificate, and the fee is not refunded.
Email care@drcertificate.com to reach DrCertificate support. Include the name used on your request and the email address you applied with, so the team can find it quickly. Write within 24 hours if you hit a technical fault during payment or submission.
Start the online form and choose the Unfit to Travel option. An independent doctor decides whether to issue your certificate, and the 399 peso fee is non refundable. Questions before you apply? Email care@drcertificate.com.
